Blog It Forward Tuesday
Whoo hoo!!! Time for another blog hop. I love these things. But this one is a bit different than those that have come before. This one is about doing a little something nice for those who enter this giveaway. This can be for one other blogger, or for several of them. My goal is to do something for at least 5 of my fellow bloggers on this list. It could be more, but that is my goal.
So here’s how this game is played. First of all, follow the hostesses of this linky. Those gorgeous ladies would be Jennifer from Sweep Tight and Dawn from Just Married With Coupons. It would also be nice to add their blog buttons to your site, just cause you’re such a nice person.
From there, add your site and your own button to the list at the bottom of the page. Now for the Blog It Forward part. Go check out the websites of the others in the list. Then you can either tell your facebook friends about their giveaways or recipes, tweet one of their posts, or do a little write up on your blog about them (which is what I’m going to do).
Now it would just be plain rude of me to ask you to do all this if I wasn’t to do it myself, so here we go. I hope I can do justice to at least 5 of these outstanding bloggers.
1.) A Steady Hand
As a fellow crochet-er, I had to add this one. ABC-Clothing is not just about clothes, it’s about making ourselves more beautiful than we already are by any means possible. This includes items such as these awesome crocheted headbands. I just learned (after trying for 30 years) to make granny squares, so I think these are just adorable. I think I’m kind of jealous, but that’s okay, I’ll get over it.
2.) Kona Comments
I’m adding this young lady for one reason and one reason only….she needs more followers and I know how that feels. It sucks trying to get people to follow you on GFC, especially when you’re not one of the “elite”. I know that I still get excited with each and every follower I get on this site and all my other sites too. So this is to say, “Please follow this young lady”. Thank you!!!
3.) Mommy Loves Giveaways
This site is giving away a box filled with Pure Romance. I had to write about this, not just as an entry into this giveaway, but because this would be a great item to have as my hubby and I are 17 days away from our 21st wedding anniversary. And even now, he still makes me blush. LOL This one ends on May 10th, so hurry.
4.) Liz Marie
I liked this site from the moment I saw it. I’m always trying to do my part to reduce/reuse/recycle, but I loved Liz’s idea for painting mason jars and using them as vases and plant starter jars. All she did was painted them in white and they were ready to go. Very chic, very elegant, and very cool.
5.) ChariT’s Inspirational Creations
I was impressed with the earrings I saw when I first stopped by this site. They were cute little hoops with dangling crowns in the middle and I thought they were a really neat idea for Mother’s Day. Then, as I was scrolling down the post, I saw the other Mother’s Day earrings this brilliant lady had made. These are THE most awesomest–most gorgeous peacock feather earrings EVER!!!! I grew up in the country and my grandmother had peacocks on her farm. We had feathers all over the place and I miss having them around. I love these earrings and I know you will too.
Okay kids, there you go. Be sure to not only stop by these blogs, but check out the rest of the bloggers and their giveaway links. Because it’s not really a blog hop if you don’t hop around.
Adding My Site To The Blog Hops
I figured out a long time ago, the best way to bring people to your site is by A.) Checking out there sites first, and B.) getting your site into as many blog hops as possible.
I love blog hops. I have found some of the most awesome sites online via the blog hops. I’ve also had the pleasure of meeting some very sweet and unique people through these blog hops. So, now that I have this site just the way I want it, it’s time to show it off to the rest of the world. That’s why I’m getting in on the Mid-Week Blog Hop sponsored by Tara. She runs a killer graphic design blog and is extremely talented. I cheat and get all my designs from freebie sites, but if I had it in me, I’d do it all myself.
So, how does Tara’s blog hop work??? Easy. First of all, add Tara’s blog button to your site. I’ll be adding it to my sidebar as soon as I’m finished writing this post.
Next, make sure to follow Tara on Google Friend Connect (and hey, while you’re here, follow me too please). You can find the widget for that on the sidebar of almost every blog in the Mommysphere—>.
Then make sure to follow at least 2 blogs on the list. After all, that’s the main reason to be on these blog hops and if you want someone else to visit you’re site, you should be nice enough to visit theirs.
Finally, add your site to the list on Tara’s site. That way the other people on the list can find you and can stop by to say hello. It might sound like a lot of work, but it’s really not AND it’s totally worth it.
So thanks to anyone and everyone who stops by my site and I can’t wait to go visit a few others on the list.
New Season, New Ideas
Well, it’s been a very long time since I last stopped and gave this site a face lift. I almost threw this site out but something told me to hang onto it and give it another shot and that’s just what I’m doing. I know this site doesn’t have a lot of readers at the moment, but I’m hoping to change that in the coming months. I would say weeks, but I’ve been doing this long enough to know that it’s going to take more than just a couple weeks to breathe life into this comatose sites.
My plans for the coming weeks/months is to find great deals on everything from cool hats and handbags, to beautiful jewelry, to anything else that makes a girl…or a guy…feel good and look great. Though it will be mostly about clothing, we cannot live by clothing alone. After all, what would an outfit be without the accessories??? LOL
So come along and lets see what we can find out there that will make us all look our best and feel like a million bucks.
Vintage 1970′s Clothing
Attention children of the 70′s. Save all your old, ugly clothes. They’re worth a fortune.
Well, ok. Maybe they’re not worth thousands of dollars, but anything that is deemed “vintage” is becoming quite stylish and worth some money. Because of sites like Ebay, everything old is cool again. And, because of these sites, adding the word “vintage” means you can get more money from all those clothes you hated as a kid.
I grew up in the 70′s. I remember seeing men in plaid leisure suits and women in short, print skirts. Honestly, I hated the whole look. Being a teenager in the 80′s, I was more into the bright solids and skin-tight jeans. However, as a little kid, my mother dressed me in the wild combinations of the day. If I only knew then, what I know now. I wouldn’t have “accidentally” cut up that pair of checkered Gouchos.

Interestingly enough, it seems that some of the wild prints of the 70′s are starting to make a comeback. Huge flowered skirts, and flashy blouses are some of the hottest styles these days. I watch shows such as “What Not To Wear” and think to myself, I owned that shirt 30 years ago. One thing I do have to say is that paisley is still a print that should NOT be worn by men. It’s just not attractive (my opinion).
It’s amazing to me that some of the higher end auction sites and specialty stores are selling these items for huge amounts of money. Maybe it’s just me, but I can’t see myself buying a vintage 1970′s dress for more than $50. However, I’m seriously thinking about heading over to Goodwill and buying them out. I’m seriously in the wrong business.
Welcome To My Blog
Welcome to the very first post in my new blog, ABC-Clothing. Well, it’s not exactly the first post, but it’s the first post since I redesigned this place. I originally bought this domain name for my daughter and one of her friends. They were all gung-ho about starting their own clothing blog, and being teenaged girls, they had a million ideas for the site. It lasted all about 2 months then they were done.
This site has just been sitting out there in cyberspace, waiting to be updated and used for the greater good. Well, maybe not the greater good, but it needed freshened up and some new fodder added in. So, I transferred it over to my hosting site and started from scratch. I do have some sort of a plan for the site, but we’ll see how it goes. I’d like to make this site all about clothing. From ancient times, to today’s fashions. What the stars were wearing in the 50′s, and what they’re wearing today. If it’s about clothing, I want it in here.
I’m a huge fan of shows like What Not To Wear and How Do I Look?. My biggest fear is that one day I’ll be on one of those shows because of my hideous attire. I’m not one of those fashionistas, but I do like clothes. I’m more of the Goodwill Goddess type, but that doesn’t mean that I don’t like to find the best outfits for my money.
I’m not sure exactly how where this site will go, but I do know one thing. If I find something I like about clothes, you can bet you’ll see it here before I’m done.
